Re-Illustrating a children's book

While working at Whole Foods I met this lady name Mari, we have been talking since the summer and finally this fall she showed me this book her mother had written years ago, that she found while cleaning out her mother's home. Her mother had it illustrated and tried to get it published but didn't get anywhere with it. I suggested we give it another go and here we are. This is the original cover art for the book, I will post my new sketches can finished art work as it comes along.

A few days ago my boyfriend for some reason was singing ” my little pony” theme song, he got it stuck in my head for days. So as a kind of punishment I drew him as a my little pony but it just turned out really cute so it wasn't much of a punishment.

Playing in the park

Went to Fort Washington state park today and while wandering the stream that runs through it I found this. A tree stabbed into another tree, it must have happened in the fall with all that flooding. Most of the surrounding area was still covered with debree. I also found a turtle the size of a dinner plate, no picture of him he was not very happy that I was holding him.

Illustration Friday -- Suspense

My submission for suspense is a tiny little kitty that seems scared, skittish almost in suspense of what is coming around the corner at him. I used color pencil on black paper for this little sketch.

Been making stuff

I have been creating, I started crocheting A lot more lately, I have made some nice chunky scarfs and experimenting with different stitches. My biggest project I just finished is this baby blanket for some friends. Its the Alliance Lion from world of warcraft, I made the whole thing up. It was fun but took a hell of a long time, its about 3 feet wide and 3 and half feet long, and heavy. Nice warm blanket for the winter, and then when the baby has out grown it they can hang it up on the wall like a tapestry.
